The P Bass has defined recorded and live music since its inception, and the Vintage P Bass pickup nails all the things we love about that distinctive tone. You will get just the right balance of authoritative thump and clear articulation for an authentic P-Bass feel. Our Vintage P-Bass pickup uses hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets, and a vintage coil wind to deliver all of the bold, smooth tone of the late 50s Precision Bass. This pickup is a drop-in replacement for any American Standard Precision bass.

Since 1978, we’ve been hand building all of our vintage Fender style pickups with the right color and thickness of Forbon flatwork, along with the period correct hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets. Each pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-up wires. We hand file the flatwork, assemble, and lacquer the bobbin just as it was done during Fender’s Golden Age.

If you like the original P-Rails, but wanted an even hotter versatile humbucker pickup, this is the one for you. Wound for maximum output; and combined with a pair of Alnico 8 bar magnets, this pickup is a versatile beast. You get all of the versatility of the original P-Rail, but with a more aggressive output. Use with a 3-way mini-switch to access the split coil options or combine with our Triple Shot switching mounting ring to unlock all of the possibilities. Use with our original P-Rails neck model for the ultimate versatile setup.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the P-Rails Hot humbucker uses a pair of Alnico 8 bar magnets, comes with a 4-conductor lead wire for all of the wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal free operation.

The Lipstick Tube for Strat uses the same materials and construction as our Danelectro replacement but is modified to be a drop-in for any standard sized Strat slot. What you get is a unique combination of Strat bounciness and Dano crispness. The tone is sharp and jangly and is great for all types of clean tone rhythm playing. Leads have a snarly breakup when overdriven and are full of gritty brilliance. The middle position pickup is reverse wound, reverse polarity, which will give you hum canceling operation when combined with the neck or bridge pickups in positions 2 and 4.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Lipstick Tube uses an Alnico 5 bar magnet, and a classic looking Danelectro style Lipstick Tube cover that has been slightly reduced in size to fit a Strat slot. We have also modified the mounting bracket so that it mounts like any other Stratocaster pickup. Comes with 2-conductor shielded lead wire, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal free operation.

Want the focused mid bite and unique attack of a P-90, but have an instrument routed for humbuckers? You need a humbucker sized P90 Phat Cat Set. The Phat Cat is a true single-coil P90 Soapbar retrofitted under a humbucker cover for use in humbucker-equipped guitars. We originally developed this pickup in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop for Hamer Guitars, but eventually the demand became so great that we moved it to regular production.

The Phat Cats give you all the authentic grit and growl that you’d expect from a great vintage P90 Soapbar in the bridge position, and the authentic P90 bounce and sparkle in the neck position. Chords have bright, ringing harmonic overtones while solos have that classic P90 cut and edge. We use two Alnico 2 bar magnets to give you more sustain and a compressed attack, while the metal covers provide more shielding and noise reduction than standard soapbar covers.

Other appointments include a nickel silver bottom plate, single-conductor braided hookup wire and vacuum wax potting for squeal free operation. The neck model is RW/RP, reverse wind reverse polarity, from the bridge pickup to provide noiseless operation when used together. Our P90 Stack delivers a noiseless, vintage style, P90 soapbar tone for any guitar with a P90 sized pickup route. You get the growl and sparkle, but none of the pesky hum that traditional single coils have. The neck model sounds nice and full, with just the right amount of low-end growl, while the bridge model sounds nice and midrangy, with all the classic grit that you’d expect out of a great bridge position P90.

The 4-conductor lead wire gives you the option to split the coils if you want, or to switch into series mode for a more compressed sound. At .95 in height, these noiseless P90 pickups are a little taller than a typical P90, so you may want to make sure your guitars pickup slots are deep enough before trying to install them.

With its overwound coil and dual large ceramic magnets, the Custom is our most powerful high-output P90 pickup. In the bridge position, it will give you fat, growling chords that are full of rich midrange and sparkling harmonics. It really emphasizes the attack of your pick against the strings, and can keep even high-gain sounds detailed and defined. Chords are raucous and bold and single notes will jump out with an edgy grit that will have no trouble cutting through any mix.

The Custom P90 neck will give you fat, full chords that are nicely balanced and articulate, with the muscular clang that typifies the best P90s. Use two Custom P90s for a high-output setup or pair a Custom bridge model with a Vintage P90 neck for ultimate flexibility. This pickup is a drop-in replacement for most traditional Gibson-sized P90 soapbar routs.

Our Hot P90 soapbar pickups combine extra coil windings with two small ceramic bar magnets to give you more output, greater sustain, and more overall sensitivity. Both the neck and bridge models have a pronounced upper midrange that will make chords sound mean and full, and solos sound fat and cutting.

When used with the bridge Hot P90, the RWRP, reverse wind reverse polarity, neck pickup will be noise free. Both pickups are drop-in replacements for most traditional Gibson-sized P90 soapbar routs.

Chords really growl, and solos have a humbucker-like midrange cut. These sounds have been popular with alt-rockers and surf guitarists for ages, but they truly can do so much more. Sparkling cleans, grungy dirty tones, and bluesy sustain are all possible with these vibey pickups.

When used with our RWRP neck model, you will get hum-canceling operation when both pickups are used together. The Hot Jazzmaster is a drop-in replacement for Fender American Standard Jazzmaster sized pickups, and will fit perfectly into the original cover.*
