Quarter Pound™ Jaguar

The Quarter Pound Jaguar pickups use a custom overwound coil to give it a fat low end and adds magnetism with their large ¼” diameter poles for a nice balance of chime and treble response. The result are high output pickups that sounds a bit like P90 soapbar pickups, but with the extra articulation and focus that you would expect from a Jaguar. These pickups will fit into your original claw but are meant to be mounted without covers. We build these with alnico 5 rod magnets, a custom coil wind, custom flatwork, and each pickup is wax potted for squeal free operation. They do not come with covers or claws.

Vintage P90

The dual alnico 5 bar magnets, and the short, wide bobbins give the P90 its unique tonal character with a powerful midrange and higher output than most other types of single coils.

In the neck position, this pickup sounds sweet and smooth, and will deliver big fat sounding chords. In the bridge position, this pickup has sparkly mids that really give it a gritty, open tone. Chords have a nice harmonic bloom, and single notes are glassy and up-front.

Both the neck and bridge pickups are drop-in replacements for most traditional Gibson-sized P90 soapbars. Our Vintage P90s are wound with plain enamel wire, and we add extra mojo by winding them on the same Leesona winder that was used in the 1950s in the old Gibson factory. Come with vintage braided single-conductor hookup cable and are wax potted for squeal free performance.

Jimi Hendrix™

On March 28, 1968, Jimi Hendrix asked a young Seymour W. Duncan to present him with his guitar onstage at an Experience show at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. That Strat was loaded with pickups Seymour hand wound on his record player just for Jimi. That unforgettable night would set in motion Seymour’s future – and his legacy almost five decades later. Now you can be a bit closer to Jimi’s world with our Jimi Hendrix™ Signature classic Strat pickups.

Like Jimi’s music, the Jimi Hendrix Signature Strat pickups have their roots in the traditional but with an eye on the future. Each pickup is custom wound for a richer, melodic tone. The bridge model has an aggressive attack that cuts through while staying true to Jimi’s iconic lead tone. The neck/middle pickup sounds thick and full and is great for chord work, bluesy melodies, double-stops and Jimi’s signature hybrid chord/melody style. And in the in-between positions there’s plenty of that classic Strat ‘quack.’ When it comes to specs., Seymour is meticulous about vintage correctness, and the original Strat set that he wound for Jimi in 1968 did not have an RWRP middle pickup. Therefore, just like the originals, the middle pickup of these accurate recreations is also not RWRP.

To help you to get even closer to Jimi’s earth-shattering tone, each pickup is made with a reverse magnet stagger to capture the effect of playing a right-handed guitar upside-down and restrung for a lefty. The white pickup covers showcase Jimi’s signature, and the set also comes with a commemorative booklet and stickers. Put these classic Strat pickups in your guitar and prepare to be Experienced! The Jimi Hendrix™ Signature Strat pickups are fully authorized by Authentic Hendrix LLC.

The middle position Duckbucker is there to add that sparkly single coil tone in positions 2, 3, & 4. Its unique, split-pole pattern with 3 poles on each coil, also contributes to the single coil bounciness and snappy low end. Blackouts® Strat

Blackouts for Strat are voiced for heavy rock and metal, but they can do a lot more than that. Their strong active signal is perfect for driving high-gain amps and long effects chains, but will also provide studio-quality clean pop and funk sounds. Anything from crushing power-chord riffs and searing leads to sparkling, compressed clean tones are possible.

Blackouts for Strat have a unique dual-pin configuration on the underside of the pickup for two modes of output: moderate and high-gain. The pins can also be wired to a mini-switch or a push/pull pot for an onboard boost. If you love the tone and playability of your Strat-style guitar, but hate the hum and low output of the pickups, this is the upgrade for you.

Available individually or as a complete set, Blackouts for Strat retrofit any standard single-coil pickup rout and ship with 25k pots, tone capacitor (set only), stereo jack, battery clip, and other mounting hardware.

  • Neck/Middle position models will have the same output, wind direction and magnetic polarity.
  • All sets, except the Jimi Hendrix signature model, come with a Middle RWRP as the Middle Pickup.
  • Middle RwRP position (reverse wind/reverse polarity) – choose this to have a pickup that will be hum-cancelling with one of our neck or bridge models.

Red Devil™ for Strat®

Meet the Red Devil for Strat set. All the fat, P.A.F. tone and Texas hot-sauce sizzle of Billy’s signature sound, in a pickup that will fit in any Strat-sized single-coil rout—proving that tone as big as Texas can come in deceptively small packages. The Red Devil for Strat set features three unique pickup winds, with specially calibrated Alnico 5 magnets.

The bridge is wound like an extra spicy P.A.F., with enough meat to beef up your Strat and provide the fat tone that Billy is known for. The neck and middle back off the heat a little and brush on sweet, smoky blues—making them perfect for ringing clean tones and chunky rhythms, but with the horsepower Billy demands for lead playing.

The Red Devil is also sold as individual neck, middle, and bridge models. Individual pickups are sold in black, white, cream, and parchment colors.

Duckbuckers™ Strat

The Duckbucker is a single-coil sized humbucker designed to be wired in parallel to give you a vintage, sparkly, single-coil tone without any hum. Its unique, split-pole pattern, with three pole pieces on each coil, also contributes to the single-coil bounciness and snappy low end.

In the bridge position, the Duckbucker is bright and spanky. Chords have a crisp, shimmery quality with chimey high end. The 4-conductor lead wire gives you access to series wiring (using a push/pull switch or mini-toggle) for a hotter humbucker tone.

As a neck pickup, the Duckbucker is great for all types of clean rhythm playing. The Duckbucker is also a popular middle pickup, especially in between two higher-output pickups (as in our Everything Axe Loaded Pickguard), for that Strat “quack” in positions 2 and 4.

This pickup is a drop-in replacement for any standard Stratocaster-style pickup rout, and pairs beautifully with bridge models of our Duckbuckers Strat, JB Jr. Strat, or Little ’59 Strat. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Duckbucker for Strat uses a ceramic bar magnet, comes with a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is wax potted for squeal-free operation.

  • Neck/Middle position models will have the same output, wind direction and magnetic polarity.
